Our team
Four people, one floor
A two-dentist practice with one hygienist and one patient coordinator. You will see the same dentist every visit; we believe that matters.

Dr. Mei Chen, DDS
Lead Dentist · Founder
Opened Riverside Dental in 2012 after seven years at a multi-location group practice on the Eastside. Lives the practice’s “no upsells” rule because she got into dentistry to help people, not to clear the cosmetic quotas the group practice expected of her.
Education: University of Washington School of Dentistry (DDS, 2005); University of British Columbia (BSc, 2001).
Licensed: WA (2005). DEA, BLS-certified.

Dr. Anjali Patel, DDS
Associate Dentist · Pediatric Lead
Joined the practice in 2019 with a focus on family dentistry and treating apprehensive patients. Carries the pediatric load and the cases where the patient hasn’t been to a dentist in a decade and isn’t sure they can sit through one now.
Education: Oregon Health & Science University (DDS, 2014); UW Seattle (BS, 2010).
Licensed: WA (2014), OR (2014). Pediatric dentistry continuing-education focus.

Aisha Okoye, RDH
Lead Hygienist
Twelve years of hygiene work, the last six with us. The patient you see twice a year for cleanings and the person who will catch the periodontal problem six months before either dentist would have noticed it during the exam.

Mateo Reyes
Patient Coordinator
Answers the phone, runs the schedule, handles insurance verification and the inevitable “is this covered?” conversation. Has worked at this practice longer than either dentist (joined in 2011, the year before the practice opened — he came over from Dr. Chen’s previous office).
